The meeting scheduled for Oamaru next week (Friday 23 August) will now be conducted by the Otago RC at Wingatui. Conversely the meeting scheduled on Wednesday 23 October will now be held at Oamaru licenced to the Oamaru JC. There will be no changes to the respective programmes advertised for these meetings.

Yesterday (Tuesday) NZTR Tracks’ Advisor Todd Treweek together with the RIU inspected the Oamaru thoroughbred surface.

Both parties are not satisfied, bearing in mind weather uncertainties, that the track will be in satisfactory order for that meeting to proceed safely and with certainty. They have advised that further remedial and maintenance work be conducted on the track prior to racing there on 23 October.
