The Tauherenikau Racecourse hosts five race days a year in January, February, March (Masterton Racing Club), June, and October. The January meeting often incorporates harness racing as well as gallops. The January and February meetings are part of the popular Interislander Summer Festival, with the March meeting being organised by the Masterton Racing Club. The Tauherenikau Racecourse is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic whilst watching the racing. Set in 110 acres of beautiful native bush, with magnificent trees and quant buildings Tauherenikau is, without doubt, one of the most picturesque racing club environments in New Zealand.
