Welcome to ‘New Zealand Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’
Rehabilitating and re-homing retired racehorses.
The Mission
To ensure throughbreds receive the dignity and respect they deserve after retiring from racing and to free their owners and breeders from the anxiety that results from being uncertain of their future well-being.
The Vision
To ensure the long term care and respect of retired Thoroughbreds and to make use of its resources to benefit the general community.
The Foundation
The New Zealand Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation (NZTRF) was founded in New Zealand midway through 2013 by New Zealander Kylie Bax, International Supermodel and Personality, who is also an owner and breeder herself.
The Foundation is committed to offering a solution to the challenges faced by owners and breeders, along with those of the controlling authorities, when having to deal with retired racehorses; traditionally a sensitive topic with far-reaching implications for the entire industry.
