Yearling Sales Preparation and 'Ready To Runs':
Mark and Shelly Treweek set up their Lyndhurst Farm operations after they had spent a couple of years learning sales preparation working for Ascot Farm. Prior to that Mark had been a private trainer.
For a number of years they did breakers and pretrained for NZ and Australian clients preparing horses for the Ready to Run Sales in Singapore. At the same time they retained shares in a few in their own right, usually choosing to buy weanlings then onselling at the National Yearling Sales. A $2500 purchase was turned over into a $42k sale and one at $1500 sold at $25k, this helped to set them up on their Peake Road property in Cambridge where they have grown a most successful business.
Two years ago they purchased a 78acre property on Bellevue Road at Cambridge where they have built from scratch a state of the art facility for their Lyndhurst Farm operations.
‘We plan to keep presenting and selling horses that can go on to win Group 1 races, its all about those horses going on and being successful too’.

The Farm:
The 78 acre property has been fully fenced in ‘Epirail’ the newest and safest horse railing currently. A 21 box barn, and another containing 6 boxes, and tie up stalls all of which are fully rubber lined, not only for safety but reduces internal noise, and creates a non slip surface at the same time. Staff quarters have also been considered in the layout with 6 full time staff on hand. Being built from scratch, user friendly making it easy to move horses around and making it easy for both horses and staff.
The safe paddocking on the property is complimented with a large Magnum horse walker which has an internal lunging yard and an 800metre sandtrack.
Successes:
Lyndhurst Farm has on 7 occasions of the previous 8 years topped the Ready to Run Sales.
Lyndhurst Farm from a very small draft has topped the National NZ yearling sales both at $800,000, for an Encosta De Lago colt and a Fastnet Rock filly.
And in one particular year they lead by average the Ready to Run K1 and K2 draft.
