Shafiq Rusof has been ruled out of Wellington Cup day after he copped suspenion for his ride on Melody Belle in the Gr.1 Sistema Railway. at Ellerslie on New Year’s Day. Shafiq's suspenion has ruled him out from the  Saturday 5 January to  Sunday 20 January.

Shafiq will miss out on the ride on Melody Belle with Opie Bosson to take the reins.  The Telegraph favourite ($2.00) had no luck on in the Railway being caught wide from a wide barrier of 13.  Finishing off the second fastest last 600 of 33.82.

Opie is unbeaten on the Commands mare winning 3 including the Karaka Millions in 2017.
