GAME BRAiN: The Interactive Live Game Show

GAME BRAIN is a live, interactive game show designed to educate and engage secondary school students on the risks
of youth gambling.

GAME BRAiN

GAME BRAiN looks at the realities of gambling, signs of a gambling problem, how to avoid the risks and where to get help, if needed. Each year, Game BRAiN is presented at dozens of schools across Ontario. Since the program launch in 2014, GAME BRAiN has reached over 40,000 Ontario students. This program is offered free of charge to Ontario high schools thanks to funding by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The experience

Students compete against each other in teams during this lively 45-minute session with hosts Jason Agnew and Matt Chin.

The hosts

Jason Agnew

Jason is a Canadian TV and radio personality. Trained in radio and television arts at Ryerson University, he was also the host of YTV’s Splatalot! along with long-time comedy partner Matt Chin.

Matt Chin

Matt is a prolific Canadian TV host and comedian with more than 4 million views on YouTube. A highlight of his comedic partnership with Jason Agnew was their 7 seasons on YTV’s hugely successful show Splatalot.

A focus on problem gambling

Research shows that 18- to 24-year-olds are the age group most at risk of developing gambling problems. This makes it important to educate youth before their habits form, leave home and gain a degree of financial independence. The program focuses on:

  • The risks of gambling
  • The warning signs of a gambling problem
  • The availability of help resources

This interactive program is flexible and can be adapted for any size audience or room. All audio/visual equipment is provided.
