    About ‘Elite Equine Dentistry’

    The Early Days

Owner Lee Drinkrow’s career with equines began as a very young child. In the early 1980’s, at age 2, Lee had her own 12.2 hand pony that was actually purchased off the side of the road.

The Pony Club beckoned and Lee worked her way through the show jumping ranks. As Lee was brought up on a farm, her experiences not only included disciplined pony club lessons but recreational riding and helping her farming parents out on the family farm.

From the late 1980’s through to 1990 Lee took up teaching and instructing, something her pupils would have found invaluable given her experience.

There is not much that Lee has not experienced equine wise, having worked in the worlds of Polo, Eventing, Dressage and acting as groom also extended her knowledge and her love and passion for the equine world.

Business Degree to Equine Dentistry Qualification

Thoughts of being a veterinarian turned into a Business Degree and after holding down a high profile role with an international financial institution, passion over-rode her employment and Lee returned to be on the farm with her beloved equines.

The road to being a professional horse dentist has not been easy, other than the fact it does require further study, even though Lee had for sometime worked on the teeth of her own horses if she was expecting a successful career then a qualification would be necessary.

Disaster would strike when Lee almost severed her arm in a paddock accident. Thankfully the arm was saved, though extensive rehabilitation would be required, and importantly one of strength if she was going to continue to pursue her career as an equine dentist.

These days those struggles have just made Lee Drinkrow more determined and more passionate than ever about her horses, and her career in dentistry. Grateful to have been taught by the best, Lee obtained her qualification in equine dentistry in 2013 and is currently looking to expand her services, most recently looking into a ‘Barefoot Trimming Degree’ while thoughts on ‘Bowen Therapy’ are on the horizon.
